General Rules:
- All tournaments will be played on US or North American servers.
- All games will be played on default settings unless otherwise specified below.
- All macros available via in-game controller configurations are allowed.
- Hardware-programmable input entry, rapid-fire, modifiers, macros, or other hardware-assisted mechanisms are strictly forbidden.
- Pausing the game at any time for any reason will cause you to forfeit the round; latency or disconnect issues also result in forfeiture unless otherwise agreed upon by opponents.
- Any player using ”˜random select”™ to choose their character must keep the same character upon winning.
- Converters are allowed.
- When a match forfeiture is issued, the participant automatically loses the match in dispute (not the game, but the match; know the difference!). The other player automatically advances to the next bracket and is NOT required to play a replacement.
- Circumstances in which forfeitures may be issued include but are not limited to:
- Inability to locate the participant at the start of their match (i.e. not showing up)
- Violation of match rules during the match (i.e. using a game-freezing glitch banned in the ruleset)
- Minor misconduct during a tournament (I.e. disruptive behavior, failing to obey judge instructions, etc.)
- Circumstances in which forfeitures may be issued include but are not limited to:
- The Inevitable Defeat rule is in effect. This rule is defined in circumstances where a player has legally won the round or match (i.e. landed a blow that will kill the opponent) but pauses the game before being awarded the Round won icon or cinematic. That player will still be awarded the win. A common example of the Inevitable Defeat rule coming into play is when Player 1 lands a super move on Player 2, but the super move animation is a grab attack and damage isn”™t awarded until the final hit connects. Player 2 has still legally lost the round. If there is a dispute over whether the move would have knocked out Player 2, a tournament official will ask someone to un-pause the match, see the result of the action, and proceed from there. If the attack did not kill Player 2, the mid-game pause rules go into effect and the offending player forfeits the match.
Bracket style will be determined based upon entrants (Single or double elimination).
